AMKOR TECHNOLOGY RECEIVES AMD'S ASSEMBLY
SUBCONTRACTOR
OF THE YEAR AND OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS
Amkor Technology (Nasdaq: AMKR) has received AMD's
"#1 Assembly Subcontractor for Year 2000" and "Outstanding
Achievement Award" for 2000.
AMD's "#1 Assembly Subcontractor for Year 2000 Award"
recognizes the outstanding assembly subcontractor that contributes
significantly to AMD's business success. Amkor produces a variety
of IC packages for AMD, including TQFP, LQFP and others routinely
used in laptop computers, telephones, audio/visual products
and other applications.
Accepting the award, Amkor Senior Vice President of U.S. Sales,
Mike Lamble, said, "Amkor Technology is very pleased to
receive this prestigious award from AMD. Amkor and AMD have
experienced a long relationship. This is the first award of
this type awarded by AMD to their number one assembly subcontractor.
It is the result of a lot of hard work on both sides and was
achieved by both teams working closely together."
In addition, Amkor was one of only five suppliers worldwide
that received AMD's "Outstanding Achievement Award"
this year. These five suppliers represent AMD's preferred subcontractors.
Suppliers are rated on quality, cost, technology, service and
flexibility. Amkor ranked the highest among the rated suppliers.
