3. A quick, safe and universal non-contact system to remove ICs
JBC, a pioneer in manual soldering, de-soldering and rework equipment is introducing its latest Advanced Series line. The JT 7000 Hot Air station features first of all a powerful 900W heater capable of delivering up to 45 liters per minute, very close to some BGA Rework equipment and almost twice as much as a conventional hot-air station as well as a self contained vacuum pump. Combined to this powerful device, you will use unique stainless made vacuum pick-ups that, once linked to the vacuum and thanks to their soft spring and vacuum suction rubber cups will allow you to take out almost any Quad Flat Pack (QFP) or Plastic Loaded Carriage Components (PLCC). The JT 7000 system is fast : the whole process should take you between 20 and 40 seconds, unless you try some BGAs or CSPs, though the station has not been designed for this purpose. The JT 7000 concept is safe : the outskirts of the components are protected thanks to the stainless nozzle. The hot-air is spread evenly thanks to the rounded shape of the same nozzle. It is impossible to remove any pads as the combined force of the spring and the vacuum are only enough to lift up the component once and only once it is re-flowed. Eventually, the JT 7000 is universal : it does not require much training : anybody becomes literate with the unit after two boards.
