The MP1260 is a newly designed
SMD Placement System completely developed by MIMOT.
The modular design permits for machine configurations according
to user requirements such as placement rate, transport system, board handling, number and type of component feeders, etc.
As common among automatic placement systems from MIMOT, the MP1260 is a user friendly "State-of-the-Art" SMD placement system. With the MP1260 MIMOT focused on a system that provides high flexibility and fast change over.
The MP1260 is also designed as an In-Line machine. You may build a placement line that accommodates up to 900 feeders and achieves a placement rate of 21,000 CPH with only three MP1260's.
MIMOT systems have gained recognition because of their high precision, smart software and the overall reliability. Another point to mention is that MIMOT systems always allow for future growth and new technologies.
The MP1260 may be equipped with either one or two independently working placement modules each holding up to five vacuum placement heads. The modules work alternately which results in a high throughput even for complex PCB's.
Coded feeders combined with an accurate vision system scope easily with the great variety of components and packaging available in the industry.
Software developed by MIMOT has a consistent user interface and is easy to operate. The software also stands for excellent performance and efficiency.
System Concept
The servo driven Pick-and-Place modules move on the x-axis while the PCB is transferred on the y-axis at the right side of the machine. There are four standard sizes for the x-axis.
Depending on the machine length the system accommodates from 112 to 328 feeders (8mm tapes) which are placed on both sides of the machine. The number of feeders can be increased in steps of 72 in accordance with the machine length.
Although a MIMOT Pick-and-Place module can hold up five vacuum placement heads, the minimal configuration consists of a single vacuum placement head, together with a vision camera.
You may start with the minimal configuration and add further placement heads in the field as you require more capacity.
Naturally, each placement head may be equipped with a wide variety of tools which are automatically exchanged.
The optical centering in the MP1260 guarantees high flexibility and superior placement quality.
Feeders
Efficient for prototypes It is simple to place the coded feeders onto the MP1260. It does not require any kind of fixture - just hang the feeder into a feeder slot.
The system scans the feeders and auto-teaches the pick-up positions. It knows how to handle each individual feeder with data from the package and component library.
Feeders can be removed or added while the machine is placing. The placer does not stop for missing components until all other components are placed.
